The 11th annual Great Bowls of Soup fundraiser hosted by the Galesburg Civic Art Center is Thursday. Tickets are limited to the number of handmade bowls donated by local artisans. The event is a community-style dinner that features the hand-made work of local potters, glass artists, and wood turners. Attendees pick out and keep a locally-made bowl. The event will have live music with KGS String Quartet, a raffle, and samples of soups, breads, and desserts made by local restaurants. Over 25 restaurants are competing for the Best Soup title this year. Last year’s winner was Cherry Street Restaurant and Bar for their Portabella & Scallop Bisque. Great Bowls of Soup is Thursday, February 21, from 5-7pm at the Knights of Columbus. Tickets are $20 per person and are available for purchase at the Art Center or Innkeeper’s Coffee. All proceeds benefit the exhibition and arts education programming at the Galesburg Civic Art Center.
