The Illinois State Police is boosting enforcement efforts for Super Bowl weekend. More troopers will be on the roadways this weekend for the unofficial football holiday, and will be looking for what they call the “Fatal Four”. The “Fatal Four” includes speeding, drunk driving, not wearing a seatbelt and distracted driving. Trooper Mindy Carroll asks people to celebrate the game responsibly. “These days there are so many ways to be responsible,” Carroll said. “You know, you can take a cab, Uber, or Lyft – whatever it is. We just urge people that if you’re going to celebrate the tradition to do so safely.” During last year’s Super Bowl weekend state police issued more than 2,300 tickets and investigated three alcohol-related crashes.
