Movies, Bags, Wild Game, and More this weekend

Take in a free movie this weekend with the Orpheum Theatre’s presentation of Getting Grace. The movie tells the story of Grace, a teenage girl dying of cancer, who crashes a funeral home to find out what will happen to her after she dies, but ends up teaching awkward funeral director Bill how to celebrate life. The movie was written, directed, and stars Daniel Roebuck.  Roebuck is best known for his roles in 1993’s The Fugitive, 2000’s Final Destination, 2002’s We Were Soldiers and many more as a writer and director as well. The film is being shown on Friday, January 25th and Saturday, January 26th 7:30 pm.0pm. A Meet and Greet will take place at 6:30pm with Roebuck and Madelyn Dundon who stars as Grace. A Q and A will follow the movie and all net proceeds from the film will benefit the Knox County Relay for Life. Advance tickets are available here.

There’s plenty of events for good causes this weekend. Fill up at the Abingdon American Legion Saturday, January 26th with the 3rd Annual Wild Game Feed. There will be all kinds of dishes prepared from wild game with sides and desserts from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. All proceeds from the meal will go to the local charity Feed My Lambs.
Harley’s Pub in Galesburg and Central Illinois ABATE is hosting a Bags Tournament Saturday, January 26th from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Sign up will be from noon to 1:00 pm and you will draw for partners. The cost is $10 per person.
On Sunday, January 27th there is a 3-D Archery Shoot supporting Relay for Life. Team Blu Ravens will be hosting the shoot from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm at the indoor Galesburg Archery Club – 5-80 Hawthorne Court. The cost is $10 – all proceeds will be going to help Relay for Life, Team Blu Ravens.
