Moline woman charged with attacking a Galesburg Police officer

A 22-year-old Moline woman faces felony counts of retail theft and aggravated battery after her arrest Sunday.

Maiya L. Fouch made a video appearance in Knox County Circuit Court on Monday with Judge Patricia A. Walton Monday afternoon who set bond at $15,000.

Fouch was arrested after an alleged confrontation with Galesburg Police. According to a report, officers attempted to stop Fouch after they were called out to Walmart for a retail theft complaint.

The report indicates that Fouch freely admitted to taking items, and then resisted when officers tried placing her under arrest. The report indicates that Fouch bit the forearm of the arresting officer.

She will be back in Knox County Court on February 5th for a preliminary hearing.
