The Warren County Jail has reopened once again, but a staffing shortage still remains.
In a release from Sheriff Martin Edwards, he says that the jail is receiving inmates.
Five inmates were transferred back from the Mercer County Jail yesterday morning. He says that fourteen inmates still remain in Mercer County.
Additional inmates are expected to be back later this week after more renovation work is complete.
Edwards says that the jail is still looking for jailors. A staffing shortage was what caused the jail to close in August of 2018.
He added that two correctional officers quit last week so the need for qualified applicants still exists.
