OSF Holy Family among the top rural hospitals in the country.

OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth was named a Top Rural Hospital by the Leapfrog Group last week. This is the second year in a row for the recognition. The Leapfrog Group is an independent hospital watchdog organization. Part of the recognition is Holy Family’s achievements in patient safety and quality. In a statement, President of OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Patty Luker said: “We are honored to have once again been named among this elite group of hospitals.” The Leapfrog Top Rural Hospital Award is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive honors hospitals can receive. Qualifications for the award include infection rates and the hospital’s capacity to prevent medication errors. To qualify, for the distinction, hospitals submit a Leapfrog Hospital Survey and achieve the highest performance in its category. Leah Binder, president and CEO of Leapfrog said, “Being acknowledged as a Top Hospital is an incredible feat achieved by less than six percent of eligible hospitals nationwide.” In addition to Top Rural Hospital, OSF Holy Family was also recognized among the Top Children’s Hospitals, Top General Hospitals, and Top Teaching Hospitals.
