Trivia Saturday night in Abingdon to benefit Honor Flight

A trivia night fundraiser to benefit the Quad Cities Honor Flight is going on Saturday night at the American Legion in Abingdon.

The event is being hosted by the Knights Motorcycle Riding Club, an organization that does a lot of philanthropic events in the area.

Club President Jamie Cudd says that giving back to the community has been a big part of why the club got started, and they’ve done a lot in the area.

“It’s worked out pretty good. We can give a little bit back,” Cudd said. “We’ve raised money for cancer victims. We go down to and are big sponsors of Silvie’s Ride down in Macomb for child abuse and make awareness. We’ve done Wreaths Across America and are sponsors of St. Jude riders and we’ve done quite a few different things. Anything we can do with it, we can do. We try and help out and maybe it’s not us running the whole event, sometimes it’s just about getting money.”

Honor Flight flies America’s veterans to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials that honor the wars they took part in. It takes about $400 for Honor Flight to send a veteran to Washington D.C. to visit the war memorials, so every little bit helps.

Ten rounds of general trivia will be played. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, and gift basket sale.

Doors will open at 6:00 Saturday night, with the trivia starting at 7:00. Cost is $100 per table of eight to ten people.

FM95’s Eric Hanson will be Saturday night’s MC.
