It’s a loaded weekend with sales, markets, haunted houses, and the return of Treat Street

The final Galesburg Farmers’ Market of the season sets up shop Saturday, October 27th from 8:00 am to noon in the parking lot between Seminary and Kellogg Streets in downtown Galesburg. Anyone with unused prescriptions that want to dispose of them in a safe way may do so by bringing them to the farmers’ market. Bridgeway will have a booth set up accepting unwanted medications beginning at 9:00 am.

The final garage sale for the Galesburg Rescue Mission is Friday, October 26th and Saturday, October 27th. Located at 435 East Third, help support the rescue mission from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm Friday and from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday.

It’s also the final weekend for the Walk of the Dead Haunted Trail and Shadow Realms Haunted House. Both Friday and Saturday, The Walk of the Dead behind Lakeside is from 7:00 pm until midnight and costs $15 – Shadow Realms at 2015 Windish Drive is from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm and costs $10.

The 10th Annual Treat Street returns Saturday morning for some early trick-or-treating in downtown Galesburg. From 10:00 am to noon, kids in costume can get candy and other goodies from downtown businesses starting at the WGIL studios. Register for prizes while collecting candy along the way – participating businesses will have orange and black balloons out front.

 

Every meal on Saturday, October 27th helps a good cause.

Start your day off in Knoxville Saturday with the Knoxville Methodist Men Pancake and Belgian Waffle Day. Serving from 7:00 am to noon, the Knoxville United Methodist men are hosting all-you-can eat pancakes and waffles at the church located at 303 South Broad Street for a free will offering. Proceeds benefit the Knox County Food Pantry, Boy Scout Troop 2-20 and Vacation Bible School.
For lunch, make your way to the OAKS Senior Center on Farnham Street in Galesburg for the center’s soup luncheon. Serving from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm, the meal includes your choice of ham & bean or broccoli cheese soup, pie and a drink. The cost is a free will donation and the event also will feature a flea market.
Come dinner time, head back to Knoxville for the 4-H Robotics First Lego League Spaghetti Dinner at the Knoxville First Presbyterian Church. Serving from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm, for $6 per person, you’ll enjoy salad, spaghetti with meatballs, bread and a dessert. All proceeds will benefit Team 3621 Lightning Bots and the Knox County 4-H Robotics Program.
Finally, cap off your night with the Galesburg Christian School Athletics Trivia Night at the Knights of Columbus Hall from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
The cost is $100 per 10 person team and will include a silent auction and 50/50.
