Bond set in Galesburg woman’s meth delivery case

Bond has been set at $20,000 for a Galesburg woman charged with delivery of methamphetamine, a Class 2 Felony.

31-year-old Kari L. Rupert made a video appearance in Knox County Circuit Court on Thursday where Judge Raymond A. Cavanaugh set bail and appointed the public defender’s office in her case.

Rupert also faces a Class 3 Felony of Possession of Methamphetamine under five grams, as well as a Class 4 Driving on a Revoked License.

She was arrested Wednesday evening after allegedly being observed driving on a revoked license by Galesburg Police officers.

According to Galesburg Police reports, officers identified her driving and parking a vehicle at the Broadview Inn parking lot at 29 Public Square.

A search of her purse and the vehicle turned up 3.5 grams of a substance that would field test positive for meth. Also found was a hypodermic syringe, a scale with white crystal residue, and several empty plastics baggies.

Judge Cavanaugh also set a preliminary hearing for October 23rd in the case.
