Good food and live music at second annual Food Truck Fest

Downtown Galesburg will be a happening place Saturday afternoon and evening as the second annual Food Truck Fest kicks off at 12:00 and running until 11:00 p.m.

Several food trucks from around the area will be set up in Parking Lot H located at the corner of Kellogg and Simmons streets where they will be selling their eats to attendees.

Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jessica Linder tells WGIL that trucks from last year are returning.

“Our local favorites are going to be there,” said Linder. “We’ve got Boss Food Truck, Henn House Barbecue, Smokin’ Willies – our local gang that will all be present.”

Also taking part is Eat Dawn’s Taco from Peoria among some others.

“Gramma Nanna’s Kitchen – they’ve got quite an assortment of food. Papa Murphy’s will be back this year, they are a return guest. And then Skipper’s Island Oasis with seafood… they’ve got some unique seafood.”

G&M Distributors will have a beer garden on site where a menu that includes wine and craft beer will be for sale.

There will also be live music from Trailer Parke and the Rockn’ Papas kicks off at 6:30.

Entry costs $5 but children 12 and under get in for free. Food tickets will go for a dollar each with most food items costing between three and five tickets.
