Warren County Prime Beef Festival is this week in Monmouth.

The 2018 Warren County Prime Beef Festival gets underway this week with carnival highlights, livestock shows, kids activities and Wednesday’s parade (September 5th). Saturday, September 1st the festival’s Princess Pageant was held at Monmouth College. The 2018 award winners and court are: Savannah Ballard for Personality, Mackenzie Connell for Talent, 3rd Runner-Up was Murphy Sage, 2nd Runner-Up was Alexandria Wise, 1st Runner-Up was Emma Parkins of Monmouth, and the 2018 Princess is Rachel Williams of Monmouth. Wednesday, September 5th at 5:00 pm the Prime Beef Parade will march through downtown Monmouth. Parade and Band Awards will take place tomorrow beginning at 6:30 pm on the festival stage. Things start early Wednesday with the Beef Show beginning at 8:30 am. The Livestock Auction begins at 6:30 pm at the Monmouth American Legion, followed by the Figure 8 Derby at 7:00 pm. Wednesday and Thursday the carnival will open at 5:00 pm – Friday and Saturday, the carnival opens at 4:00 pm. Eternity Road will take the stage tomorrow night at 7:00 pm, Chuck Murphy on Thursday at 7:00 pm. Friday’s entertainment includes Staggard Band at 8:00 pm and The Lovedahls on Saturday at 7:00 pm. Wednesday and Thursday are “Arm Band Nights” at the carnival with unlimited rides for $22. General admission to demo derbies is $10 – children five and under are free. All festival stage entertainment is free. Saturday will include the bulk of the favorite events. The car show will run from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, the Strongman Contest flexes off at 8:00 am, it’s a Kids’ Day with discounted rides during the carnival, and the Demolition Derby begins at 7:00 pm.
