A “shots fired” call this weekend brought Galesburg police officers to East Knox Street to investigate.
Officers were dispatched to the 1300-block of East Knox Street, a block from Lombard Middle School, for the complaint at around 11:50 p.m. on Sunday.
According to reports, police had received at least two separate calls of what was believed to be six gunshots heard.
Officers spoke with a few people regarding the incident, one of which told police he observed several male subjects exit a vehicle and take off running through yards prior to the gunshots.
Another witness told police he had heard several people arguing around the 1300-block of Conger Street followed by five or six shots.
He then told police he had seen a dark-colored van or SUV speed down Locust Street. He also told officers he saw a green light coming from the vehicle, that he believed was a gun laser.
Reports indicate officers found no damage from gunfire, and no evidence was recovered.
