A man accused of being in possession of around 300 pounds of methamphetamine when he was arrested earlier in August made an appearance in Knox County Circuit Court Monday afternoon.
29-year-old Kaleb E. Holzheuser faces several drug-related felonies, four of which involve methamphetamine possession and delivery, when he appeared before Judge Raymond Cavanaugh.
Appearing with his attorney, Sherry Lawson-Weaver, Holzheuser plead not guilty and demanded a jury trial. Cavanaugh scheduled a pre-trial conference for September 4th.
Holzheuser was arrested August 9th after officers attempted to stop a vehicle he was allegedly driving. He is accused of speeding up, striking the door of the squad car – causing injury to an officer – and then crashing into a utility pole.
The arrest was related to surveillance being conducted by officers and a controlled purchase of ice meth.
