Bond to stand in Doggidos crash case

Bond stands at $100,000 for a Galesburg man accused of evading police, causing a three-vehicle crash, driving his vehicle into a Grand Avenue business, and being caught with methamphetamine was in Knox County Court Monday afternoon.

30-year-old Bradley A. Canier had a weekend detention hearing where bond was set. He made a video appearance with Judge Paul Mangieri where the public defender’s office was appointed in the case.

Canier faces five felony charges, the most severe being a Class 2 Unlawful Possession of Meth between 5 and 15 grams. According to police reports, 5.9 grams of meth were found in the area he was arrested. It was noted he was digging into his pockets during a brief foot chase with officers and assisting members of the public.

He also faces two charges of Aggravated DUI, for both being under the influence while driving and for not having valid insurance, as well as a count of Aggravated Fleeing causing damage over $300.

If convicted of all felony counts he could face up to 25 years in the Department of Corrections.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for September 4th.
