Knox debuting new major in Business and Management this fall

Knox College is adding a major in Business and Management to their curriculum after it’s long been one of their most popular minors.Garikai Campbell, Knox’s Provost and Dean of the College says this could be one of the most “innovative business programs for undergraduates.”

Merging traditional business learning with knowledge from several other areas, Campbell says at Knox the goal is to have students become “effective and ethical leaders of diverse, global teams and organizations.”

Students in the major will choose an area of focus from one of five options which include; finance and accounting, global business policy and mathematical finance.

Wagner Distinguished Chair in Business, John Spittell says employers are looking for “communication skills” and people who think critically and analytically.

Spittell says they also want those who can apply their knowledge to real world situations which is what studying business in a liberal arts setting allows students to do.

Knox’s fall term classes begin on Sept. 12.
