Culver’s is coming to Galesburg

Another restaurant franchise favorite is coming to Galesburg early next year. 

Culver’s Restaurant – known for it’s fresh frozen custard, cheese curds, and butterburgers will be moving in to 1320 North Henderson Street.

The former First Choice Medical Equipment building and a portion of the Tompkins State Bank parking lot will be the site. Princteon, Illinois Culver’s Owner Michele Davis with DaRo LLC will be part owner of the new store and demolition and construction is expected to begin on the First Choice building is expected to begin the beginning of next week.

Davis says in a statement that every trip to Galesburg so far has been a good one, while co-owner Jason Roe says he’s invested in the area, and praises the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development for their help.

The store will hire up to 100 people, many part-time, but there also will be full-time management positions.

The restaurant is also expected to be the newest model for Cuvler’s which will feature the chain’s outdoor patio design and large parking lot. This will be Davis’ second Culver’s store – while also owning and operating one in Princeton, Illinois. She said the community involvement and desire to grow is what lead her to Galesburg. The popular, Wisconsin-based franchise offers several community-oriented programs like the Culver’s Foundation – which awards scholarships to team members. Last year alone, Culver’s awarded nearly half a million dollars to over 200 “team members” through the program. The franchise has also donated nearly $2 million to agricultural educational programs like the FFA in the past five years as well.
