Pair arrested in Monmouth for cannabis delivery in suspicious death investigation

Monmouth Police and the Warren County Coroner Al McGuire are investigating following a suspicious death incident and the arrest of two individuals on marijuana related charges.

MPD say that on Thursdays officer conducted an investigation into a “suspicious death incident” at 322 W. 2nd Avenue, Apartment 2.

A subsequent search warrant was conducted which lead to the arrests of two of the occupants of the home, Samuel J. Romine and Marissa B. Clayton.

Romine had his bond set at $50,000 and Clayton’s at $5,000 after an appearance in Warren County Circuit Court on Friday.

1.5 pounds of cannabis and a small amount of a controlled substance were seized along with $4,700 in cash and other drug related paraphernalia.

Clayton and Romine are being charged with possession of a controlled substance and Manufacture/Delivery/Possession with intent to deliver over 500 grams of cannabis.

The delivery charge is a Class 3 felony which could subject the accused to up to $25,000 in fines and 2 to 5 years in penitentiary.
