Rep. Dan Swanson, has made it a point in his time in office to support veterans and connect them with resources, after all the Alpha Republican is a veteran himself. Later in July Rep. Swanson will for the third year hold a series of resources fairs for veterans and seniors, that will traverse the 74th District.
The one in Knox County will be held on July 25 at the Knoxville American Legion from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. but fairs will also be held that week in Geneseo, Aledo and Princeton.
Swanson says he aims to connect attendees with different service agencies and government entities.
He says many times veterans have a “daunting task” getting past red tape but these fairs will put them face to face with representatives of organizations.
Additionally, staff members from Rep. Swanson’s Constituent Service staff will be available for consultations.
Admission is free for all the events and a meal will be provided.
