Knox Prairie Community Kitchen finding a new home in First Baptist Church

After seven years of serving free and nutritious meals to any and all members of the community the Knox Prairie Community Kitchen is moving locations.

They’ve been at Central Congregational Church on the public square for the last six years. But starting July 12 they’ll call First Baptist Church in Galesburg home, located at 169 S. Cherry St., a few blocks away from Central Congregational. KCPK Board President Tamby Peterson says despite the location change they will still have the same commitment to serving “nutritious food to our neighbors” with unwavering “dignity and respect.” In additional to the meal, fresh produce, canned and boxed foods and personal hygiene products are available for guests. If you’d like to attend a meal, and all are welcome, but they ask you come in at the entrance on Tompkins Street. Knox Prairie Community Kitchen is entirely comprised of volunteers, is completely donor supported and has no religious affiliation.
