Bond set for Galesburg man on Class 1 Felony meth charge

Bond has been set at $20,000 for a Galesburg man arrested Monday for a Class 1 Felony of possession of methamphetamine between 15 and 100 grams.

28-year-old Jade M. Branch along side public defender Matt Thor made a video appearance in Knox County Circuit Court on Tuesday with Judge James Standard. Bail was set and the public defender’s office was appointed for his defense.

According to police reports, Branch was arrested Monday at around 12:30. He was observed driving a vehicle with no license plate, and admitted to police that he did not have a valid license.

He also had warrants out of McDonough County. Officers would discover a blue translucent baggie containing white chunky substance inside. They also found 6 hypodermic needles, and a total of $1,565 in cash, which was seized.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 16th.
