Bond reduced for woman accused of aiding Jonathan Kelly

A Galesburg woman who faces felony obstruction of justice and felony aiding a fugitive charges had her bond reduced Wednesday.

23-year-old Dashay R. Burnett had a bond-reduction hearing in Knox County Circuit Court with Judge Raymond A. Cavanaugh where her bail was lowered to $3,000.

Her bond had originally been set at $75,000 for allegedly aiding Jonathan Kelly, the man who is charged with the murder of Jenni McGruder.

Burnett appeared in custody with Public Defender Daniel O’Brien, where Judge Cavanaugh recommend she be at every court date and to not violate laws of this or any other jurisdiction while on bail.

Since her previous appearance in court, Kelly was caught in South Dakota and awaits extradition to Illinois.

She is scheduled to be back in court July 5th.
