Galesburg Crime Stoppers awards Officer of the Year

An 18-year veteran with the Galesburg Police Department has been named the 2018 Officer of the Year by the Galesburg Area Crime Stoppers.

In a news release from Crime Stoppers, Officer Patrick Kisler was awarded the recognition after being nominated because of his proactive success in ridding Galesburg streets of guns and drugs.

Every year the Crime Stoppers Board of Directors selects an officer who was nominated by his peers as someone who, in the service of the police department and the citizens of Galesburg, goes above and beyond the call of duty in the last year.

Kisler is a Field Training Officer, a Team Leader on the Galesburg Special Response Team, and is currently a first shift patrol officer.
