Easter Bunny visits Galesburg Sunday – and hides some eggs

This year, Easter Sunday falls on April 1st which means Sunday, March 25th is the City of Galesburg Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Lakeside Recreation Facility in Galesburg. Each year the hunt features over 12,000 eggs waiting to be found, and this year the City will have nearly 140 prizes for kids. Elizabeth Varner – Recreation Supervisor for the Galesburg Parks and Recreation Department, tells WGIL there will be six grand prizes of bicycles for kids. “The Easter Bunny will be there – so bring your cameras,” Varner said. “Philip the Pig from First Mid Illinois Bank and Trust will be there. Hy Vee will be grilling hamburgers and hotdogs. So come early, you can purchase some food and relax. Come early so you can find your age group.” Age groups will be roped off for 2-3 year olds, 4-5 year olds, 6-8 year olds, and 9-11 year olds. City employees, officials, volunteers, and Knox College football players will be helping out, and the free family event begins at 1:00pm on Sunday, March 25th.

Also Saturday March 24th, Hy Vee on East Main in Galesburg is hosting a Bunny Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt starting at 8:00am.
