Bond set for two individuals arrested this weekend on drug charges

Bond has been set for two individuals who were arrested Saturday for possession of drug charges.

55-year-old Guy D. Dehle of Alexis and 35-year-old Melissa D. Goodwin of Galesburg made video appearances in Knox County Circuit Court Monday.

Judge Raymond Cavanaugh set bond for both at $10,000 – with only 10-percent or $1,000 needed to get out of jail.

According to reports, Galesburg Police officers performed a traffic stop Saturday at just after 1:30 a.m. around East Losey and Rio Streets on a vehicle with expired registration.

Reports indicate a K-9 unit performed and alerted to a free-air sniff test.

A search of the vehicle turned up what half a gram of what was suspected to be heroin and half a gram of methemphatemine – leading to the arrest of both individuals.

Additionally several pieces of drug paraphernalia were also found, including hypodermic syringes, a straw with white residue, and a sunglasses container with white residue.

Charges filed in court indicate that both Dehle and Goodwin are charged with a Class 3 Felony of possession of meth under five grams, a Class 4 Felony of possession of a controlled substance, and a Class A Misdemeanor of sale or exchange of a hypodermic needle.
