Abingdon man wins $75,000 from lottery scratch off ticket

Tyson DeJaynes of Abingdon is feeling pretty lucky after he scratched off a ticket from the Illinois Lottery and won $75,000.

Initially DeJaynes thought he had only won $50 from the $25 Ultimate Crossword game and went to work.

His grandmother bought the ticket at the Casey’s General Store in Abingdon on S. Monroe St., which gets a bonus for selling the ticket.

The retailer who sells a winning ticket gets one percent of the prize amount which in this case in $750.

DeJaynes says that plans on sharing his winnings with his grandparents and also will pay off his car.

The Ultimate Crossword game has top 10 prizes of $750,000 and 100 prizes of $75,000.
