Early voting being pushed back a few weeks

While February 8th is the statutory start of early voting for the March 20th General Primary Election, in light of a pending litigation in the Appellate Court, ballots will not be ready until as early as February 21st.

According to a release from Lisa Watson, the Director of the Galesburg Board of Elections, once the challenges to the Attorney General race are determined the official ballot will be prepared.

She adds that should the ballots be available prior to February 21st, the City of Galesburg’s website will be updated to reflect the changes.

In an additional release, Watson reminds potential electors within the city that Tuesday, February 20th is the last day to register to vote or to transfer registration for the General Primary at any location other than City Hall.
