Warren County Library gets new LED bulbs, set to see annual savings

The Warren County Public Library is going to be seeing a bit better from here on out, that on top of seeing more green in their bank account.

The library is expecting to save upwards of $6,200 annually on their energy costs in 2018 thanks to an LED lights conversion.

According to a press release from the library, over 900 new light bulbs were purchased with incentives from Ameren Illinois – offering instant discounts for various energy efficiency upgrades.

Library Director Larisa Good says that “because of the savings through Ameren Illinois’ Instant Incentives program, we have additional resources to expand the selection of books in our library.”

Keith Martin, the Director of Energy Efficiency Operations for Ameren Illinois, says that, “efforts by Warren County Public Library leaders show how small changes can lead to big savings with energy efficiency projects.”

The new LED bulbs were purchased through Galesburg Electric and Industrial Supply with Ameren supplying the rebate to offset the cost of the project.
