En season, the farm-to-table restaurant located at the Galesburg Sustainable Business Center, will not reopen in the spring.According to the Center’s Facility Manager Cindy Teel En season had been opened since 2011.
Besides their dishes being dependent on the ingredients available only certain times of the year they also had focused on sustainable dining.
That means in part utilizing produce from local farmers, not using plastic products, all organic and not using fertilizer, insecticides or pesticides.
Teel tells WGIL that she doesn’t expect the space at the Sustainable Business Center to remain vacant for too long.
“Since we’ve announced that it was closing we’ve generated a lot of interest and I’ve gotten a lot of calls about using the space for something else. I think we are going to be hearing more from potentially a new client,” Teel says.
According to their website possible tenants should be start ups or established businesses that seek to improve and protect their natural environment through innovation
