One charged with meth possession in traffic stop arrest

One woman was arrested following a traffic stop in Galesburg on Wednesday morning.

According to police reports, a patrol on Cedar Street identified a silver Dodge truck being driven by 25-year-old Tucker S. Oneal – whom officers were aware had a suspended license – around 12:45.

Officers noted in their reports that Oneal pulled into a drive way and exited his vehicle. Police pulled up behind him and called him to return to the vehicle.

Officers performed the traffic stop and arrested Oneal on the suspended license charge.

Two female passengers in the truck with him were taken out so the vehicle could be searched and impounded. The women were searched as well.

Officers would find two hypodermic needles on the ground in the path Oneal took after he had exited the vehicle, and link them to Oneal – adding a possession of hypodermic syringe misdemeanor charge to him.

Officers allegedly found a pipe made out of a pen with burnt cannabis in it, and a baggie containing a white powdery residue – which would field test positive for methamphetamine – in the purse of 34-year-old Jessica D. Avery.

Avery would be arrested and charged with a Class 3 Felony of Meth Possession.

They were taken to the Knox County Jail.
