Galesburg City Council have few action items on their agenda ahead of their meeting tonight.
One of the few things they will consider is removing timed restrictions for ten parking spaces in Parking Lot A, behind what was Fig’s Italian Steakhouse and The Cellar.
City Administration is recommending alderman approve this since the eateries owners have said they don’t plan on reopening after a June 2017 fire.
City staff sought the approval of multiple adjacent businesses and they were all in support of taking away the eight 2-hour parking spots that were added in 2015, as well as two 30-minute parking spots that were around before.
A part of the usually uncontroversial consent agenda includes placing value statements from the Heart and Soul Galesburg On Track project on file in the City Clerk’s office.
