Knox names Daniella Irle as new athletic director

Knox College has found their new Director of Athletics in Daniella J. Irle.Irle comes to Knox by way of the University of North Dakota where for the last four years she’s been deputy director of athletics and senior woman administrator.

She’s succeeding Chad Eisle (Eisley), who last June left the post after 11 years to become AD at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.

Sharing some of her philosophy on college athletics Irle in a statement says she believes in the “power of athletics to transform a collegiate experience” particularly at the DIII level.

A news release doesn’t mention Irle taking any immediate coaching roles at the school but she does have coaching experience, twice winning Conference USA Coach of the Year while coaching women’s swimming and diving at Tulane University.

As director of athletics Irle will oversee the 20 sports teams at Knox as well as management of the athletic and recreational facilities.
