F & M Bank will add on to its already five facilities with a new branch expected to open in Galesburg by Summer 2018.
Last Wednesday there was an official groundbreaking with officials like Mayor John Pritchard and F & M Bank President Doug Sanders.
In a press release the bank says that they anticipate construction taking about six months to complete and open the facility near where local retail has been rapidly developing in Galesburg.
The branch will be constructed at the Seminary Square shopping center where develop continues to boom in Galesburg.
The new branch will follow an “open and modern” concept, technology focused design, teller pads and iPad stations.
They’ll also be saving energy by making use of solar panels in the design.
This will be the sixth F & M branch overall with three locations already in Galesburg, one in Peoria and one in Brimfield.
F & M has been in existence for almost 150 years.
