One man is dead, and another is in custody after a Sunday morning shooting in the Maple City.
According to a press release from the Monmouth Police Department, officers and investigators responded to the 100 block of West 4th Avenue at around 7:30 in reference to a possible gunshot victim.
A yet to be named 27-year-old man was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound.
Investigators interviewed 34-year-old Drew M. Pearman who resides at the residence of the shooting was interviewed by MPD, and would subsequently be charged with first-degree murder.
Pearman was taken to the Warren County Jail for processing.
No further information is available, and the name of the victim is being withheld until the family has been notified.
