Three individuals have been arrested after officers found methamphetamine manufacturing materials in their possession following a routine traffic stop.
According to police reports, officers performed the traffic stop in the 800 block of E. Fifth Street on a green 2001 Mitsubishi after officers noticed the registration on the car was expired.
Officers made contact with the driver, 28-year-old Marcus W. Gibbs of Monmouth – who allegedly had a suspended license.
Following his arrest, officers searched him only to find a baggie of meth. A full search of the vehicle was done.
Officers allegedly discovered pseudoephedrine tablets, a glass smoking pipe, and a generator bottle used in meth manufacturing. Additionally, officers discovered an airsoft gun, and pink brass knuckles.
Upon their discovery, officers arrested the other two passengers in the vehicle, 22-year-old Cheyenne M. Christianson of Monmouth, and 22-year-old Luz M Carrillo of Galesburg.
All three have been charged with Armed Violence, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Meth Manufacturing Materials. Gibbs to was cited for the Expired Registration, Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and charged with Driving on a Suspended License.
