Building committee hears of progress of county projects

Last night the Knox County Building Committee heard a presentation regarding progress made on several ongoing projects on county owned property.
Cody Basham with Klingner and Associates informed the committee that the sound proofing work that was approved last month had been completed – with only some painting left to do.

He added that the bill hadn’t been submitted yet, but would most likely be sent to Sheriff David Clague by next month.

Additionally, Basham gave the committee an update on some of the finishing touches on the courthouse facade.

“The staircase was covered coated for the courthouse exterior improvements, I believe yesterday (Monday) and they should be installed by the end of the week on the one entrance,” Basham says. “We’re going to test the one entrance, make sure they meet the spec and then the following one should be installed.”

The committee approved courthouse work bills for Otto Baum of $3,358.39 with $35,652 still left to pay.

Basham said that he wants to make sure the final punch list is complete before they’re completely paid out.
