With several seats up for grabs in the 2018 election, three challengers have filed to run for the Knox County Board.
Patrick Harlan, Kyle Rohweder and Preston Johnson have all filed the paperwork to make a run at seats.
Harlan is a Republican running in District 1 that previously challenge 17th District U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos in 2016.
He’s also been a President of the Knox County Tea Party and currently owns Shelter Insurance in Galesburg.
To gain a seat, Harlan would have to garner more votes in the November General Election than incumbents Democrat Cheryl Nache and Republican Dick Conklin.
Rohweder, who owns Glory Days Corner Barbershop has filed to run as a Democrat and will face no practical opposition.
There are three seats open in District 3 but there only two other candidates running, incumbent Democrats Pam Davidson and Tara Wilder.
Then there’s Preston Johnson who is running as a Republican in District 2.
Johnson would only need to get more votes than Democrat John Hunigan in District 2.
Johnson owns Galesburg Guns, Gear and Ammo.
