Galesburg officers responded early Sunday morning to a report of shots fired on the 600 block of West Tompkins.Officers were told a woman had been injured and an ambulance was dispatched to the area near Dale Kelley Tot Lot at 1:14 a.m.
Police were able to locate the woman upon their arrival as 20-year old Autumn L. V. Ponder, who had sustained a single gunshot wound.
Ponder is now in stable condition at OSF St. Francis in Peoria, after initially being taken to Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
GPD are still investigating but investigators do not believe the shooting was a random act.
