Man arrested from burglarizing parents home

A Galesburg man was arrested over the weekend for stealing jewelry and a firearm from his parents’ home.

38-year old Victor Anthony Tune is facing charges of residential burglary and theft of items totaling over $500.

The victim’s mother noticed in her home on the 500 block of West Grove that a jewelry box with jewelry inside was missing Friday night.

She told her and husband he searched the home and noticed that a 12 gauge shotgun with a pistol grip he owned was missing.

The victims suspected their son because they have two dogs that they felt would have warded off anyone they didn’t know.

Also a neighbor told police he saw a white Cadillac with a fabric top in the driveway around 1 p.m. that day, which is the same automobile that Tune drives.

Tune admitted to officers to taking the jewelry box but not the gun.

He said he took the items for money to get his power turned back on.

After Tune’s arrest, his wife consented to have the apartment search in which police found drawers from the jewelry box but no firearm.

The firearm is listed in police LEADS.
