Galesburg Flower Company has closed its doors permanently as of Saturday Sept. 9.
Owners of the floral company confirmed that to WGIL but offered but no further details.
Mike Rogers and Stephen Moore opened the Galesburg Flower Company in 2008 and soon after acquired Anderson Florists in 2010.
There was usually little doubt about what time of the year it was when passing by the shop, as they decorated extensively for different seasons and holidays, particularly Christmas.
The florists of the Galesburg Flower Company had won several awards in the near decade they were open.
Rogers told the Register Mail after taking a second place trophy home from the Bonnett Wholesale Florists fall show in 2015 that, “it says that we’re putting out a product that’s as good as or better than anywhere around. … We’re on the edge of design as far as being forward thinking.”
