Police, suspect drew weapons in Ella Street bust

In Knox County Circuit Court this afternoon, Judge Bruce Beal set bond at $500,000 for a Galesburg man accused of a number of felony drug and weapons charges, as well as a Class X armed violence charge.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jamie Campbell could receive up to 30 years in prison for the offense. He was one of six individuals arrested yesterday in a drug bust at 772 Ella St. where heroin, cocaine, two handguns and a small amount of marijuana was found.

According to narrative by Assistant State’s Attorney Stephanie Hilton, Campbell was arrested after drawing a loaded handgun on police when they entered with a search warrant. Officers were able to seize the weapon after wrestling the man to the ground.

Megan Stout, Isaiah Booker, Elijah Tapscott, Blake Earp and Christopher Nickas were also arrested in the bust. Stout now faces four drug related charges — two general possession charges and two intent to deliver charges. She received $10,000 bond.

Booker and Tapscott were each charged with possession of a controlled substance and received $5,000 and $3,000 bonds, respectively. Earp and Nickas were given notices to appear for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
