A juvenile is being sought by Galesburg police after he was identified as the individual who robbed a woman at gunpoint, Saturday night.The female victim was walking home from work and approached the railroad tracks at East Water and North Prairie streets.
She told police an individual who she identified as a black male approximately 13 years old pointed a silver handgun, robbing her of a pack of cigarettes.
Afterwards the suspect fled on foot to the north west behind the Galesburg Dermatology Center.
The victim added that she wasn’t sure if the gun was real and the suspect seemed “uneasy” handling it.
Later a daughter of the victim’s friend said she had seen a Snapchat account in which a black male youth said he just held up a woman at gunpoint.
GPD was able to track the Snapchat account to Facebook and then identify the juvenile, who the victim identified as who held her up.
The suspected juvenile was listed as a missing person Thursday Oct 13.
Police continue to investigate.
