Galesburg man on probation arrested again for meth

A Galesburg man, recently released from the Knox County Jail following a May meth bust, was arrested again Sunday for allegedly manufacturing the substance in an E. South Street basement.

Thirty-three-year-old Timothy MacKillican appeared in Knox County Circuit Court this afternoon where Judge Stephen Mathers set bond at $100,000.

The Knox County State’s Attorney’s Office alleges MacKillican cooked meth and was found with HCL generators, blister packs and other manufacturing items in the same home where police found similar items three months ago.

MacKillican was arrested in the May traffic stop when police found a mobile meth lab inside a backpack.

Yesterday, authorities had initially responded to a home burglary call after witnesses heard MacKillican and another man arguing. When they arrived on scene, a chemical odor could be smelled coming from the home.

Assistant State’s Attorney Sabrina Stroops said that while incarcerated in the Knox County Jail, the Galesburg man admitted to manufacturing the substance.

Mathers appointed a public defender and MacKillican will re-appear in court Wednesday at 11 a.m.
