Audi’s to move into former Moose Lodge on Cherry Street

A local restaurant that re-opened on Henderson Street in February is on the move again.

Audi’s Mexican-American restaurant has closed and is expected to re-open in the former Moose Lodge on Cherry Street by the end of August. The location at 161 N. Cherry was most recently occupied by High Noon BBQ.

Audi’s owner Lynette Vandewostine says a number of factors lead to the decision to leave Henderson Street for downtown Galesburg.

“The place was a little too small to put the pizzas in,” Vandewostine says. “We just started out doing Mexican and I always wanted to come back with the pizzas which is a big call for Audi’s. Plus, we just didn’t make it with the landlord.”

Vandewostine says the move should only require some minor clean-up and renovation in order to open. The new space offers nearly twice the seating availability, a party room and a larger kitchen.

“Plus, I’m also going to be doing delivery at this place which I didn’t offer at Henderson,” Vandewostine says.

Vandewostine adds that she expects to hire a couple of drivers for delivery service. Hours will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Saturday.

Pizza will only be available from 4 p.m. to close.
