OSF Holy Family, Alfano’s Pizzeria honored at Monmouth Chamber dinner

The Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce last night named OSF Holy Family Medical Center and Alfano’s Pizzeria as recipients of Business and Small Business of the Year awards.

Patty Luker is President of OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. She tells WGIL the award is an honor.

“It’s really a blessing that I work each day with very highly committed, engaged mission partners that are here to serve our community,” Luker says. “We’re just really proud of what we do each day, being able to serve the health care needs of our community.”

Likewise, Grace Alfano, who co-owns Alfano’s Pizzaria with her husband, Alberto, says the award solidifies the family-run business’s integration into Monmouth.image

“We’ve been working really hard to make the business welcoming to people and try to be a part of the community.” Alfano says. “It just shows you that we’re becoming part of the community.”

United School District teacher Melinda Fry was also named Citizen of the Year. Last night was the Monmouth Chamber’s 97th annual dinner.image
