Tinkham murder suspect appears with private counsel

One of the seven suspects involved in the shooting death of 19-year-old Dakota R. Tinkham last week has representation from a private attorney.

Dalton B. McKee appeared in Knox County Circuit Court today along with attorney David Reid Clark.

Clark declined comment on the case, but said his law partner Steven Glasgow will be lead counsel for the 19-year-old client.

McKee faces four counts of home invasion and three counts of armed robbery, all Class X felonies typically worth up to 30 years in prison. However, because a firearm was involved, McKee could face a 15 year add-on.

Teens Devontae Williams and Justin Timmons — both charged as adults — and 19-year-old Miguel Romo as well as 18-year-old Jovendia Williams face first degree murder charges.

Eighteen-year-old’s Charles Posey and Raymond Gable face charges of armed robbery and home invasion.

Each of the suspects is being held on $1 million bond. All seven are scheduled for April 5 preliminary hearings at 2 p.m.
