Galesburg woman arrested in Chicago suburb for home invasion, armed robbery

A Galesburg woman faces charges of home invasion and armed robbery stemming from allegations of a stick up last year in a Chicago suburb.

The Cook County Circuit Court says Jerrica Ford is accused of a robbery while wielding a firearm at Budget Lodge, an inn located in Alsip. The offense was reported Dec. 13 of last year. Ford was booked Wednesday at the Cook County Jail.

The 21-year-old suspect could face up to 30 years in prison for the robbery and home invasion charges.

This is not Ford’s first run in with the law. Last November in Knox County, she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and was sentenced to two years of conditional discharge. In that case, she was originally charged with felony aggravated battery and obstructing a peace officer, both of which were dropped in exchange for the plea.

She is held in Cook County on $250,000 bond awaiting a March 29 court date in Bridgeview. Ford is represented by a public defender.
