Earlier today, I mentioned this year’s “Big Read”, in conjunction with the Galesburg Public Library and, a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. This year’s book selection is Sun, Stone, and Shadows: 20 Great Mexican Short Stories. The “Big Read” kicks off this Saturday, March 5th, at the Orpheum Theater with a performance of traditional Mexican dances by the Quad Cities Ballet Folklorico. Doors open at 1:30 pm with the performance at 2 pm. This is a free event and an opportunity to pick up a free copy of Sun, Stone, and Shadows: 20 Great Mexican Short Stories. This is just one of many events the library is hosting for the “Big Read”. For details on all the events, visit www.galesburglibrary.org and click on events and programs.
