Mysterious car crash leads to Georgia woman’s arrest

Galesburg Police responded to a call Saturday from a witness near S. Chambers and E. Knox St. who says he witnessed five subjects he believed to have been four black males and a black female flee the scene.

When officers arrived, a white vehicle was found abandoned and had done damage to Galesburg parking and bus signs.

Police also observed the vehicle’s interior “smelled on an overwhelming odor of alcohol”, contained several Circle K coffee cups and a 20 oz. MinuteMade brand lemonade and had fresh ice cubes in the back seat.

Circle K video showed two subjects making such a purchased one of whom officers identified.

Several hours later officers located two males and a female on foot on the 500 block of E. Berrien, three blocks away from the site of the crash. 

They denied being involved in any crash but after running the names through headquarters, 29 year old Tacara Mack of Columbus, Georgia was arrested on warrant of failure to appear in court.

Mack was transported to the Knox County Jail and was held until she was able to post bond.
