105.3 KFM congratulates Stephanie Nixon, a Kindergarten teacher at Mable Woolsey Elementary School in Knoxville, May’s KFM Teacher of the Month. Stephanie was nominated by Kristin Vallas and this is what she had to say about Stephanie:

One way they go above and beyond: Mrs. Nixon is a very caring teacher. She is wonderful to all of her students. My daughter Kiley lost her father a few years ago and still has days when she really misses her father. This is a big concern for any parent that has been through the death of a loved one. I worried about how she would do at school because for awhile she was very afraid of being away from me. She always wanted to know where I was at all times. Mrs. Nixon has done a wonderful job helping my daughter feel safe and secure at school. It is very reassuring to me and my daughter that her teacher is so caring. Kiley has done wonderful this school year and has had a few upsets, but Mrs. Nixon always comforts her and always reassures her. She always notifys my of these days she has. I appreciate everything she has done for my daughter. It has been a great year for Kiley and I am so proud of all her success and so much of that is because of Mrs. Nixon!

Example of how this teacher has helped: Mrs. Nixon has given my daughter a great deal of confidence and security. She is an amazing person. I am so blessed Kiley was given Mrs. Nixon as her kindergarten teacher. She has been a blessing to us this year and she will always hold a very special place in our hearts! My daughter just told me this weekend that Mrs. Nixon is the best teacher in the world and she wished she could have her every year.

What sets this teacher apart: Mrs. Nixon is not only a great teacher, but she is a wonderful person. She is very dedicated to her students. I love how she interacts with the students, grabs their attention, and sometimes that is hard with kindergarteners. She is very organized, which I love. She sends home weekly letters to the parents to let us know what went on in class during the week. She always puts focus on the students strong points and is very positive.

As KFM’s Teacher of the Month, Stephanie receives a $100 gift card from Tompkins State Bank, a ballon bouquet from Casey’s Party Creations, and the Big Red Apple Award courtsey of Lacky Monuments and 105.3 KFM Today’s Refreshing Light Rock!
